Why branding your business matters

Whether you provide a service or a product, it’s important that your business has a brand. This is a great way to pull ahead of your competitors and to provide a connection between your business and the customer. It’s important that you identify what message it is you want to convey to your customers – this is going to be the base of your brand. And then you need to carry that message through your website, marketing, logo and anything else that’s customer facing.
If you’re still on the fence about whether you really need to have cohesive branding for your business, here’s why great branding matters:

Creates a strong customer bond

Branding is a way for you to sell yourself to the customer. Consumers have many options to choose from when selecting to do business with you, so you want to stand out. Are you a mechanic that wants to be viewed as honest and fair? A law firm that is reputable and trustworthy? An HVAC company that is reliable and responds to service calls quickly? Think about the personality of your business and build it into your brand.
Keeps customers coming back
This is vital to your business. It’s more expensive to acquire new customers than it is to keep existing customers. If you can connect your customers to your business through branding, they are more likely to keep coming back. And better yet, their great experience with you could end up creating word-of-mouth marketing to bring in more customers.

Drives a higher price point

Think about companies that have fantastic branding – Starbucks and Apple are great examples. They’re able to sell their products at a higher price point because they’ve branded themselves as the best. Use your branding to make yourself the best and people will pay more money for your product or service. Especially if you make great customer experience. Studies have shown that consumers will pay more for services or products with a company that provide excellent customer service.

Tools to support branding

It’s one thing to give yourself a brand as being reliable, trustworthy, speedy or the like. If you can’t handle customer calls, you’re not going to be able to uphold your brand. After all, your brand is your promise. Nothing will be more frustrating to a prospective or existing customer if they call your business and that call goes unanswered. So do you have the support you need to maintain your branding?

Consider call answering

Call answering services are a great business solution for making sure all your calls are answered. Live operators will handle your calls for you when you’re busy or can’t answer – that means no matter what, your calls are being answered by a live person, instead of being sent to voicemail. The operators will take a message and then send it to you, so you can prioritize who to call back. Call answering services are much more affordable than hiring an in-house receptionist.
