Missouri is called the “Show Me State” for a reason. Three of the greatest rivers in the United States converge upon the state. They are the Mississippi, Ohio, and Missouri rivers. For hundreds of years, these rivers have made Missouri a large transportation hotbed. Kansas City, Columbia, and St. Louis are the largest cities in the state, and are home to some of the country’s largest businesses. From the headquarters of Applebee’s and AMC Theaters in Kansas City, to Anheuser-Busch located in St. Louis, Missouri has plenty to “show.” The state is also known for printing and production, chemical production, transportation equipment manufacturing, aerospace technology, agricultural production, science, and biotechnology. There is also plenty to do in Missouri, from cheering on several professional sports teams, hunting and fishing, boating, to taking in a blues and jazz concert while eating some of the nation’s best barbecue.
