Hawaii became the 50th state to join the United States in 1959. Its occupants celebrate the highest life expectancy in the country. The exotic scenery, luscious landscape, picturesque beaches, volcanoes, and epic waves are well-known to those who have been to Hawaii. The aforementioned qualities bring in millions of tourists every year. Tourism is the top dog in Hawaii, but the state brings in money by exporting coffee, fruit, sugar, and macadamia nuts. The United States military is also one of the largest contributors to the local economy. The location and high Asian-American population help create a rich culture based on both the east and the west. Hawaii is a state made up of islands, and is about as beautiful as they come. It is no wonder that its citizens live longer than any other Americans.
